During the searches today on the Natural Witch, someone out there was looking up reverse witchcraft 2009. What a topic for discussion, uh?
My first encounter with the Craft was actually in the office I still currently work at, and against a coven of three. The Otherside I know had to have been working rigorously to keep my butt safe and dropping hints as to what to use to protect myself. It was during this year period that I began to awaken to the vast knowledge of the Craft; the good witchcraft and witchcraft curses.
In an effort to start learning, I started researching the meaning of flowers and the scents that they possess. Ironically, it was the rose that was most effective, along with the projection of my third-eye – then candle magick.
Quick note from Silver RavenWolf: “When the personal advancement occurs, it is done sub rosa, beneath the rose, under a veil of self-imposed secrecy….”
(page 46, unknown book. Sorry old notes I never thought I would be writing about magick.)
A person, who practices the Craft, does know that the use of any magick- even with the best of intentions – cannot be done unless there is permission. Magick is the energy from all four directions (North=Earth; East=Air; South=Fire; West=Water) being called on and carried out through whatever energy force is being called up or answering the call. Obviously, in the World today, there is a build up of negative energy that is running ramped from the poor use of our collective thoughts, actions and even in the magickal community.
There are three main “classifications” for a person who practices the Craft. By no means do I want to anger the magickal community, however, it is what it is.
Classifications
1. A White Witch. One who practices for the higher good and harm to none. A white witch realizes, like the Hermit in a tarot deck, that everything needs to be learned and taken in. The white witch promotes advancement for his or her higher being, those around them (and environment) and vibrates at an extraordinarily high level. A white witch is aware of the Furies, Tiamat, and the balance – all of the time.
2. A Gray Witch. One who practices, or walks that fine line of higher good and harm to none. A gray witch knows how to call on the positive energies but can use a darker element, also known as negative element, if need be without becoming “drunk” on the power.
3. A Dark Witch. One who practices a darker craft all of the time to inflict harsh “punishment” or chaos, because they are not getting what they want from any given situation. A dark witch becomes overwhelmed by the “power” that will ultimately consume every part of them. Those who claim possession – well – nine times out of ten – there was a practice that was happening or a door left open to another plain.
Since a non-practicing person has just learned very basic knowledge of what types of witches exist, and they ultimately cannot “defend themselves” as other in the Craft do with amulets, stones, herbs, candles, or other methods – what should they do? (Obviously, as with everything put on the Natural Witch, this is most surely open to comments and suggestions.)
Stop and ask yourself these two questions:
WHAT IS MY GUT TELLING ME TO DO?
WHAT AM I BEING COMPELLED TO PURCHASE THAT I NORMALLY WOULD NOT DREAM OF? (A body spray?)
Trust your instincts. Unless you are prepared to learn witchcraft and spell work, do your homework, and really understand what you are tapping into…again…it will do you no good to just go burn a candle, or anything else. Leaving a door open to another plain is serious business. You leave yourself open to anything! This is not good and apparently – you do not need anymore “trouble.”
